However, in Missouri it has recently been reported that the DMV which issues the CCW permit is sharing that info with a 3rd party, which in turn is giving it to to Federal Government! We are waiting to pick up our approval from the County Sheriff (which has no time limit) until this issue is resolved. In MO, once you pick up the County Sheriff approval, you have to go to the DMV and get your CCW permit within 7 days. 4/21 - Picked up permit from County Sheriff.

1. Will be getting my Concealed Weapons Permit. 2. Moving ahead with this one. Got my application turned in and fingerprints submitted. I will be visiting my local Police Department tomorrow. I received an email from the Indiana State Police today saying that as soon as they have all of the pieces, it will only take a few days before the permit will be sent out, if there are no problems in my background check. 3. The advantages of living in a small town: The Police Chief came in on his day off at 8:00 PM on a Friday night to take my payment for the local portion of my CCW and I found out that he offers FREE handgun familiarity and tactical classes to anyone that wants to attend. He is pro-2nd Amendment and willing to go the extra mile because he know that ARMED and TRAINED citizens makes him safer, not in more danger. So now I'm just waiting on the State to do their part and this one will be complete. 4. Started this process back in January 2013 and now it's April, and I'm still waiting to hear back from the Indiana State Police. Their website now says that it takes from 6 - 8 weeks if there's no problems with the application, but of course there is no way to check on the progress of the application.
